The RNC & RAYC is home to six adaptable spaces for hire, each with a unique character and a rich history, to make your business meeting, formal dinner, wedding or social occasion an extra special event.

You don’t have to be a member to hire a room at the RNC & RAYC – we welcome all guests to enjoy our facilities to host any occasion from a small meeting to a large event for more than 100 guests. Rooms can be hired singularly or in groups, depending on your requirements.

The rooms have undergone recent renovations to ensure they are fully adaptable to suit your preference. Our rooms are fully compliant with the latest COVID-19 regulations and are thoroughly sanitised between bookings to ensure your wellbeing and peace of mind.

We are pleased to offer the following services as part of our wedding package:

  • A tour of the venue with our experienced events coordinators who will support and guide the planning and delivery of your big day
  • A choice of our unique historic rooms– we have rooms to suit parties of any size for both the ceremony and reception, with two rooms licenced for civil marriages
  • On the day your guests will be offered drinks on arrival as they take in the impressive setting, in a warm welcoming atmosphere
  • A wedding breakfast tailored to your preferences
  • Stunning photo opportunities in and around the club
  • Full bar facilities with a discerning but affordable wine list – and the option to bring your own champagne for a small corkage fee
  • A full floral service offered by Shelly Vernon, our in-house florist
  • For the all-important cutting of the cake, we have a cake stand and even a ceremonial sword is available!

Trafalgar Room

Located on the ground floor and adorned with period features and artwork depicting the Battle of Trafalgar, the Trafalgar Room is an imposing and impressive space for events. With capacity for up to 100 seated and 120 standing, the Trafalgar Room is the ideal setting for a formal dinner, wedding breakfast, cocktail party or reception.

The Trafalgar Room is also licensed for Civil Ceremonies for 100 guests – including the bride, groom and two registrars.

Osborne Room

This bright and characterful space is the largest of our rooms, with a central dancefloor giving a nod to the heritage of this room as the original ballroom, the Osborne Room has direct access to the courtyard garden, and exclusive use of the Spinnaker Bar during events.

Albert Room

This first-floor room boasts spectacular views across Governors Green to the Solent, and the grand piano in the corner of the Albert Room adds an elegant touch. With capacity for up to 80 seated and 100 standing, this is another excellent option for formal dinners, receptions and parties.

The Albert Room is also licensed for Civil Ceremonies for 75 guests – including the bride,
groom and two registrars.

Library

This characterful space features sweeping shelves full of books boasting an impressive literary heritage, detailing naval and sailing history from centuries past. The Library seats up to 10 for an intimate business meeting, private lunch, or small social gathering.

Spinnaker Bar – Ground Floor
