Why join us?

While the prestige and heritage of the club remains unchanged since the dual inception in the 1860s, our membership has blossomed to include people from many different walks of life over the years.

The present-day club welcomes anyone from around the world to join us– it is no longer necessary to have a connection to the navy or even an interest in sailing. We simply welcome you to join a group of friendly and warm individuals who enjoy high-quality hospitality and interesting company, for priority access to all our facilities and social events, as well as a desirable benefits package as part of your membership.

Members have priority access to booking private function rooms comprising the library, the Spinnaker Bar, and the Albert, Osborne and Trafalgar rooms – all included as part of your membership. The interior has undergone recent refurbishments to increase the flexibility of these function rooms and improve the breadth and adaptability of our room hire offering.

Prominent members and guests of our club include royalty and socialites as well as highly decorated naval leaders and war heroes, including 19 recipients of the Victoria Cross medal. Members are also welcome at more than 50 reciprocal naval and social clubs around the world. This number increases annually as we continue to partner with esteemed clubs globally.

To apply for a membership, please complete the application form and send it to the club via email or by post.
